Assists in the management of existing commercial loan and equipment loan and lease relationships. Manages a small and non- complex loan portfolio to ensure the highest loan quality for the organization with minimal risk. Assists in the origination, negotiation, structuring, pricing, underwriting, and closing of loans. Manages the on-going monitoring of loan portfolio quality and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.
Underwrites commercial loans. Orders credit reports, obtains tax returns and financial statements from prospective borrowers or syndication sources and requests other necessary documents for credit evaluation and analysis. Prepares and analyzes debt service repayment ability. Evaluates and determines credit-worthiness in accordance with bank credit policies. Compiles loan proposal information for presentation to Board Credit Committee. Presents loans to the Board Credit Committee for approval. Order, analyze, and interpret credit reports, personal and corporate tax returns, credit investigations, trade, CPA, legal checks, UCC searches, World/OFAC checks, etc. Assists senior Commercial Loan Officers with marketing, networking and cross-selling to originate and structure loan opportunities and fee based and depository products to syndication sources, agent banks, existing customer base and prospects. Assists with audit responses, loan review inquiries and management requests. Assists senior Commercial Loan Officers with the ongoing monitoring of portfolio quality and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines. Gain proficiency in Financial Statement Spreading. Writes comprehensive credit analysis citing supporting fact patterns, conclusion and recommendation. Determine loan purpose, collateral valuation, sources or repayment including cash flow, ability to service debt and terms and conditions. Understands and interprets ratio analysis and trend analysis. Evaluates Owners and Managers background, capabilities, and experience. Becomes thoroughly familiar with all of the processes and procedures related to On Base, PFSC, Loan Operations Loan, Depository, & Cash Management systems as well as Loan Management Tracking and Loan Boarding processes. Understands all aspects of risk management, risk mitigation, compliance and regulatory requirements. May accompany Senior Relationship Managers when calling on syndication sources and customers.
Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required. Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of the job, employees are accountable to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adhere to internal control policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Finance. Minimum of two years' experience as a commercial lender.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Basic credit knowledge, underwriting and loan structuring skills. Analytical skills to understand financial and cash flow analyses. Negotiation skills in addition to excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer literacy in a wide variety of programs including all of the tools within Microsoft Office such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Inquisitive, analytical thinker with the ability to distill and summarize data. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
