Under minimal supervision, performs a variety of accounts payable functions and ensures timely processing of invoices.
Reviews invoices for proper payment authorization and completeness. Investigates past due invoices. Codes invoices with applicable general ledger account number and cost center. Processes invoice data through the accounts payable system. Matches checks with invoices, reviews amount paid for correctness. Prepares checks for mailing. Maintains the accounts payable filing system. Communicates with vendors and/or employees regarding payment status of invoices. Assists management with accounts payable research and/or analysis as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum twelve college credits in Accounting. Minimum five years accounts payable experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and general accounting systems. Good data entry skills.
