Under limited supervision, the Senior Business Intelligence Developer provides enhancement of BI support for various internal business partners such as; BSA, Lending, Retail Backoffice and Retail Deposit Management. Provides business intelligence solutions with the development of dashboards and interactive reporting in the IBM Cognos environment. Ensures smooth administration of the dashboards in the production environment.


Creates new SSIS packages to support and enhance data preservation via Cognos environment. Maintains and enhances current SSIS packages in the production environment. Maintains and enhances database environment for dashboard support. Creates visualizations and dashboards in the Cognos environment. Supports the creation of Cognos visualizations and dashboards utilizing Javascript, SQL and Cognos tools. Responsible for providing accurate and timely communication of the status of assignment, job responsibilities, and the resolution of problems to the appropriate parties following established policies and procedures. Creates estimates for large and complex assignments and tracks progress against major milestones following software development life cycle methodology and documentation standards. Ensures appropriate documentation is created and maintained and adherence to project management methods.


Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.{Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of the job, employees are accountable to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adhere to internal control policies and procedures.


Bachelor's degree in a computer science, business or finance related field. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in system analysis, design, coding and testing. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, complex data management and data warehousing. Demonstrated experience and expertise in the evaluation and implementation of major BI reporting tools in the industry such as Cognos, Business Objects, and Information Builder. Proven experience and skills in developing advanced dashboards and interactive reporting.


Proficient in major database tools such as Oracle, SQL, TOAD. Strong knowledge of multiple structured coding languages and distributed systems development techniques.Strong knowledge of system development life cycle concepts, practices and procedures. Strong knowledge of business and system workflow documentation methods. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, good negotiation skills. Strong relationship, collaboration and organizational skills. Strong team player. Computer literate with advanced proficiency in internet navigation, word processing and spreadsheet applications. Detail oriented. Exercises sound judgment. Ability to form strong business relationships and partner across the enterprise for effective cross-functional project delivery. Ability to work well with others, as well as independently. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines. Ability to lead system designs, development projects or problem solving efforts. Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to customer information and employee records.
