The Auditor Senior - Audit Practices is responsible for and oversees the conduct of the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program Reviews of Internal Audit activities. Performs and reports independent assessments of Internal Audit projects to ensure conformity and consistency with the International Professional Practices Framework Standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA Standards). Responsible for reviewing and monitoring audit project milestones, work paper compliance with IIA Standards and Internal Audit policy and procedures.
Evaluate, assess and report on individual audit projects. Review and evaluate audit work papers to ensure they accurately support the work performed and conclusions reached. Review and evaluate supervisory review of work performed to ensure it meets professional and department standards. Ensure audit procedures are designed to effectively and efficiently assess relevant controls to support an opinion for the engagement. Ascertain that assignments within established budgets and timelines and any significant variances have been documented. Review and monitor audit project milestones in accordance with Audit policy. Verify all phases of audit projects are completed in accordance with Audit policy. Review regulatory and audit issue validation memorandums for completeness. Keep abreast with the best practices and guidelines issued by the IIA. Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required. Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of the job, employees are accountable to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adhere to internal control policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in business or related field. Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in Internal Audit and/or Quality Assurance and Improvement Programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Broad knowledge of banking, accounting, and internal controls and the ability to apply knowledge in an audit function. CIA licensing a plus. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent analytical skills. Ability to work with all levels of staff and Management. Ability to meet established deadlines.
