The Information Technology (IT) Auditor is responsible for evaluating and assessing the internal controls of the Bank related to Information Technology and Information Security.
Assists the Information Technology Auditor Senior and Information Technology Audit Manager in the preparation of audit documents associated with audit engagements, planning memorandums, preliminary opening discussion documents, audit programs. Participates in integrated audits with the business auditors. Conducts Information Technology Audits of applications and/or Information Technology Infrastructure Audits. Prepares clear and concise work papers documenting testing performed and assesses control functionality. Demonstrates a strong interest in maintaining and developing knowledge and skills in Information Technology / Information Security and related areas such as technology infrastructure, cloud computing, software development, operating systems, networks, database management systems, robotic process automation, and cybersecurity. Performs an appropriate level of testing based on the audit scope and risk. Prepares draft and final audit reports of findings summarizing work performed and risk assessment. Demonstrates an understanding as to when to escalate issues identified with manager/supervisor (e.g., identification of potential audit issues requiring further review/analysis or obstacles that are impeding your ability to complete audit testing, etc.). Identifies control issues and findings timely, and ensures findings are based on relevant facts. Demonstrates ability to accurately classify control weaknesses. Documents control findings in observation forms timely using the standard format (issue, background, findings, cause, risk effect, recommendation). Conducts audits of Sarbanes Oxley Information Technology General Controls.
Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required. Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of the job, employees are accountable to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adhere to internal control policies and procedures.
Education and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, or IT risk and control related discipline. Prior work/ internship experience in an Information Technology, financial, or accounting environment helpful.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Solid analytical skills in identifying Information Technology controls and assessing functionality. Detail oriented in documenting work performed in the preparation of work papers, spreadsheets and Word documents, audit reports. Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work with all levels of staff and management. Proficient in MS Office tools including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines. Ability to quickly learn and adopt to using advanced auditing techniques, industry-leading methodology and tools.
